About the Journal

Zbornik Instituta za kriminološka i sociološka istraživanja, or Journal of the Institute of Criminological and Sociological Research (Zbornik IKSI), is a scientific journal published by the Institute of Criminological and Sociological Research, continuously in print since 1972. For several decades, the journal has closely tracked developments in the social sciences, including criminology, sociology, and related disciplines. The journal has been issued three times a year since 2016, and as of 2025, it is officially categorised as a leading national scientific journal. An electronic edition is also being introduced, starting with Issue 3 (2025).

Zbornik IKSI publishes previously unpublished scientific and professional papers from a broad range of social science disciplines, including criminology, sociology, psychology, penological andragogy, victimology, social pathology, special education, and other related fields. The journal focuses on theoretical, empirical, and comparative research addressing contemporary social phenomena and issues.

Zbornik IKSI aims to advance science and professional practice, as well as to improve research in the fields it covers. The journal fulfils scientific, educational, and societal functions by publishing research relevant not only to Serbia but also to the broader European and international context.

The editorial policy is implemented by the editorial board and the editorial staff, and all submitted papers undergo a double-anonymised peer-review process. According to the official classification by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia for 2025, the journal is categorised as a Leading National Scientific Journal (M51 category).

The Zbornik IKSI journal is available in accordance with the open access principles (Open Access). Users can read, download, copy, and search the full text of articles, as well as establish HTML links to them, without the obligation to seek the consent of the author or publisher. The process of submission of manuscripts, reviews, processing and publication of the work is free of charge. Its content is released without delay (e.g., during the embargo period).
