Abstract

This paper represents a psychological discussion about dramatic episodes in the history of mankind, such as wars, catastrophes and mass accidents that overcome human usual experience. Wars show what can happen to a human mind when it is obsessed and overwhelmed by hostility, rage, panic and fear, when the lowest and most primitive levels of mental functioning come out on the surface.
