The Development of Conceptions About Psychopathic Personality Disorder Relevant for the Psychology of Crime

Abstract

Psychopatic personality disorder nearly two centuries has capturing the attention of scientists and professionals of verious orientations. During that period numerous attempts of conceptualisation and reconceptualisation were made, including unnumerous changing of names of disorder. But in all of them, more or less explicited, this disorder has been connected with antisocal and criminal behavior. Not accidentally, the longest, until today, has survived psychological concept psychopathy. The arguments in addition to justification the concept of psychopaty, among others, gave studies of Momirović at all. (2002) which offered reliable scientific evidence that psychopathy is psychological personality disorder, even that it is psychological entity, essentially relevant for criminality.
