Migrant Crisis – Engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces

The paper presents an overview of the engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces in the tasks related to the migration crisis, from 2015 to 2018, in order to point out certain difficulties encountered by the Serbian Armed Forces during this engagement, as well as to offer the ways in which this institution can better prepare for potential re- engagement in the same or similar arrangement. The engagement of the Serbian Armed Forces was analyzed in the context of a migrant crisis as a European security problem, which is temporarily overstepped at least as far as the East Mediterranean route is concerned, but whose re-opening should not be rejected, especially if we consider the crisis in the Middle East that is far form ending, difficult security and economic situation in some of the countries of North and East Africa, and existing disagreement between the EU and Turkey regarding human rights.
