2026-04-24

We are pleased to announce that the call for papers is now open for the thematic issue of Zbornik IKSI:

Substance (Ab)use: Perspectives

Substance use and abuse remain among the most complex and contested issues in contemporary societies, spanning public health, criminal justice, education, and social policy.

This thematic issue invites interdisciplinary contributions that examine substance use and abuse across individual, social, institutional, and policy dimensions. We warmly welcome submissions from criminology, sociology, psychology, law, public health, special education, and related fields.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
– Drug policy and legal responses, including decriminalisation and harm reduction
– Substance use among youth: risk, prevention, and early intervention
– Harm reduction and public health approaches
– Institutional contexts (e.g., prisons, schools, treatment settings)
– Social inequalities and lived experiences of use, dependence, and recovery

Submission deadline: 1 September 2026

Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s online submission system.
Please indicate during submission that your manuscript is intended for the thematic issue Substance (Ab)use: Perspectives.
